Palatka is also the home of Skydive Palatka at Lt. Kay Larkin Field, golf courses, a community medical center, and the kind of full-service amenities you can't quite get in the smaller river towns. If you're flying into Jacksonville or driving down from St. Augustine, Palatka is the natural staging point for a weekend on the river.
